About Me

SALLY WHITSON
ISSA Certified Running Coach

I just love running! I started in 2013 and have run all distances, from 5Ks to full marathons, and even a few triathlons. I am a proud Ironman triathlon Finisher. Throughout the years, l’ve encouraged several friends to start running and race triathlons, training with them and informally coaching them along the way. Recently, I’ve taken a brief hiatus from running to start a family with my husband, Ryan. Unlike the (seemingly infinite) running influencers I follow on social media, I was not able to run throughout the entirety of my pregnancy.

Devastated to hang up my sneakers for an extended period, I decided I would find another way to become a better runner. So, I got my coaching certification! Following the birth of my second child, I ran my fastest half marathon (1:55:30) four months postpartum and my fastest marathon (3:56:33) at nine months postpartum. I am currently chasing the dream of qualifying and running the Boston Marathon.

My coaching motto is: “Be 10-feet tall.” Keep your head in the clouds and believe in your dream, but keep your feet on the ground because it will take a lot of hard work. Everyone deserves to feel 10-feet tall, not only in height but in confidence, courage, and ambition. Whether you want to run for fun, fitness, distance, or set a new personal record, I’m here to help you reach your potential and have a blast along the way. As your coach, I will design a training plan that fits your lifestyle, goals, and preferences. I will also give you tips, guidance, and hard-learned lessons I’ve gained throughout my running journey. I will be your running buddy, your cheerleader, and your understanding friend along the way. So, if you’re ready to be 10-feet tall, let me know, and let’s get started!
